"You have truly become someone in whose opinion I have grown to trust".

Quaneshala is very careful about how she spends her money. That is the main reason why I started asking her for financial advice. In the time I have known her; she has provided me with a wealth of information.

For example, I needed help choosing a bank that would give me the best return on my money. She suggested that I open a checking account at CheckingFinder (www.checkingfinder.com). They offer free, high-interest checking accounts when you meet the simple monthly qualification criteria.

When I needed help with my retirement investments. She recommended that I use one of Dave Ramsey’s Endorsed Local Provider’s (ELP’s) to assist me with setting up the right retirement account. You can find a list of Dave’s ELP’s at www.daveramsey.com.

She has also given me a list of several good books to read on how to manage money and building wealth. Thanks Quaneshala for all your help and advice. You have truly become someone in whose opinion I have grown to trust.

"...my husband and I have begun to work together as a team on our finances..."

I always knew I wanted to live a debt free life from the first day I became responsible  for paying my own bills. I wanted to make the right financial decisions that would help me accomplish my vision in life. In spite of my deep belief in this concept, I ended up on a path of living from paycheck to paycheck. After attending several of your classes, I was able to see my financial situation in a whole new light. I learned that there was Hope for me in my present situation and I did not have to stay in the rut I was in. Immediately, I began utilizing some of the strategies I learned in class. I thought it would take six months to see results, but only after one month, I was able to see a major improvement in my budget. As a result, my husband and I have begun to work together as a team on our finances and we are getting closer and closer to our goal. We are now more committed and persistent to follow our plan through until we reach our ultimate dream of becoming debt free. Our plan is to pass on a Legacy of living a debt free lifestyle to our children and grand children. Thank you for sharing your passion and desire to help others with their finances.

"...we have paid off nearly $3,500
dollars in debt".

A year ago, my wife and I made our first attempt to get out of debt. We did not set up a budget nor seek financial advice from an expert to help us reach our goals. At first, everything was great. We were finally able to save a little money and pay down on several debts. Later that year, the economy began to crash. Gas prices peaked at five dollars. As you can imagine, we were not prepared for this turn of events. It was only a matter of time before we threw up our hands and gave up on our dream of becoming debt free. Looking back now, I realize we made a half hearted attempt to change our lifestyle.

In January, 2009, we had the privilege of attending several Debt Elimination classes taught by you and your wife. Your classes rekindled a new hope for us to believe that we could have a debt free lifestyle. We immediately started the process again.  Only this time, we had a workable action plan in place. We were 100% committed to making a financial breakthrough in our lives.

Our most challenging time came after two months of following your advice. I became unemployed due to a companywide reduction in force. In spite of the current situation, my wife and I were able to stay encouraged and focused on reaching our goals. Following the program during this hard time showed us how we could continue even when our household income changed.

During the time of my unemployment, I became aware of the true meaning of debt and how it can enslave an individual.  For four years straight, I faithfully paid an additional $17 per month (That calculates to a little more than $800) for unemployment insurance on a particular debt. I trusted that, in the event I lost my job, the insurance company would step in and help me in my time of distress. Immediately after losing my job, I called to file for assistance. I completed the necessary paperwork and waited for relief. More than two months later, the creditors continued to give me the run around as to why they could not pay on my claim.  Therefore, I was still required to make my regular scheduled payments. At that moment, I realized that I had been paying for insurance that I was not able to benefit from. Finally, after 65 days of back and forth phone conversations, I told them that I would consider filing a lawsuit if they did not fulfill their obligations as promised in my contract.  Let’s just say, after that discussion, they finally approved my claim.

I could not believe they treated me like this because I considered myself to be a good customer. Not one time was I ever late or missed a payment. I learned what creditors really thought of me. Granted, no one forced me into borrowing more than I could afford. I take full responsibility for my actions. It is just sad that credit card companies and most banks make a substantial profit on the backs of hard working Americans by:

  1. Collecting “revenue” in the form of higher interest rates and late fees
  2. Charging outrageous fees for services that they make next to impossible to benefit from

By the grace of God, I was re-called back to work for my former employer less than a month later. Because of our new insight concerning money, we have the motivation, drive, and courage to finish our action plan. Upon completion of this writing (April 2009), we have paid off nearly $3500 dollars in debt. At this point our goal is to be completely debt free and never look back.  We do not want our livelihood to be based upon a 3 digit credit score. Our mission is to not stop until we burn the mortgage payment book!

"Now I am a firm believer that I can have the life I've only imagined".

When I first met Adrian, I thought he was an extremely frugal guy. I did not understand, until recently, how wrong I was concerning his approach to spending money. After attending several of his money management classes, I was able to find out his “Financial Secrets”.

Over the last few months, my husband and I have begun changing our spending habits. We now focus our attention on long term financial success instead of short term pleasure. I believe that if we live like no one else now, we will be able to live like no one else in the near future. Thanks for all your financial advice.
